Motor needs oil or failing?

When I turn my unit on, the motor seems to be straining once I attach the receiver. It also warms up and smell like hot oil. Is there a place to oil it, or am I looking at replacing the motor?

The motor barely moves on the fastest setting after attaching the receiver. After 5-10 minutes it runs more normally, but still a bit weaker than it used to be. My unit is probably 25-30 years old.
